The Mankato Symphony Orchestra is a 65 year old nonprofit organization which serves the Greater Mankato Region by providing live performances and music education opportunities. We have an immediate opening for a board position and are also developing a list of applicants for future positions.
Board members serve three year terms and are expected to attend monthly board meetings and committee meetings as needed. You are expected to attend performances and special events, make a personal contribution at a level that is appropriate for you, and provide your fellow board members and MSO staff with your honest and thoughtful advice. A love of music is helpful but you do not need to be a classical music expert in order to serve. In return you will receive life changing musical experiences and the opportunity to share the joy of live music with your community.
We are particularly looking for a board member with event planning, marketing, PR, or fundraising skills at this time, but we are always open to hearing what you bring to the table and are looking for many other skills as well.
