Interested in learning more about helping with school groups and other tours at the Blue Earth County Historical Society?
Come to the History Center on Monday, April 9 at 5:00 p.m. for our annual Tour Guide Meeting, open to new and returning volunteers. At this 30-45 minute meeting, we will be giving a general overview of our tours and needs and there will be a chance for volunteers to let us know if there are certain ages or tours they would like to help with. Following this meeting, there will be a 1 hour long further training for those interested in giving tours at the Hubbard House.
A bit more about our school tours: The Historical Society has created a menu of tours and activities available for grades K-5, with different tours for each grade level. Some of the grades are encouraged to tour the Hubbard House while other grades are presented with fun and engaging activities and discussions at the History Center & Museum. Volunteers can give tours, help with activities or lead small group discussions.
Once a school tour is scheduled, volunteers (based on their interests) will be contacted with specific dates and times to see if they are available.
