What makes the Unified Special Olympics program really unique is that it combines athletes with and without disabilities to compete on the same team. As a Unified Partner you would be playing side-by-side with our LEEP athletes! By participating together, athletes and Unified Partners improve their physical fitness, sharpen their skills, challenge the competition, and overcome prejudices about intellectual disabilities. Unified Basketball
Athletes with and without disabilities practice and compete together.
When: Tuesdays, January 10 – March 21, 2017
Times: 1 hour practices, 6:00pm-9:00pm
Where: Franklin Elementary School, Lower Level Gym
Tournaments:
Area- Sunday, February 12, Regionals- Saturday, February 25, State- Friday, March 24
*Practices and tournaments are mandatory for Unified Partners. There are certain rules and Unified Partner to athlete ratios that need to be met for teams to compete in Special Olympics, so please make sure that the two schedules align before committing.
