Thank you for supporting Great River Greening's early-stage restoration work on a recently acquired addition to Frontenac State Park! Located on the Mississippi River, Frontenac is a birdwatcher's paradise, known for being one of the best places in the country to view migratory birds during the spring and fall. With more than 260 species of birds recorded, the diverse habitats of Lake Pepin – including bluff land, prairie, floodplain forest, and upland hardwood forest – attract numerous warblers, hawks, waterfowl, and shorebirds.
During the event, volunteers will learn about native plants, prairie restoration, and invasive species removal while contributing to the park’s ongoing restoration efforts.
