What We Do

The Arc of Minnesota Southwest is a nationwide organization made up of parents, self-advocates, volunteers and professionals, which provides crucial information for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families.  The Arc was founded in Minnesota by parents in 1950 and is one of the largest grassroots organizations in the country.  Arc Southwest is based in Mankato and serves 18 counties across southwestern Minnesota.

Our vision is for a brighter, more inclusive future for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, so everyone can live full and complete lives as valued and engaged members of Minnesota communities.
