Kitchen volunteers are needed to help Waseca Sr. Nutrition site staff package Meals on Wheels for delivery, serve the congregate (in-house) meal, and wash dishes. At this time, we are mainly looking for help on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. This is a great opportunity to support the seniors of your community!
In Waseca, LSS Senior Nutrition serves an average of 50 meals each day to local seniors and disabled individuals in need. Our mission is to enable older adults to live healthier, more active and independent lives; allowing them to stay in their own homes, while reducing hospital visits and nursing home stays. We do this by providing hot, nutritionally balanced meals, socialization opportunities and/or daily safety/wellness checks to anyone age 60 or older. Clients are asked to donate per meal what they can afford. Our typical client is a homebound, frail, and elderly individual, of low-income.
