The greeter at Key City Bike (KCB) has a very important role. You are the first person to greet people as they enter KCB. Key City Bike is a volunteer run community bike space that is open to everyone in our community. We offer workbenches and tools for free for people to use to maintain their bikes. Coming to a shop to work on your own bike for the first time can feel intimidating because many people have never done it, it's a new experience. Some people may even feel like they don't belong in a bike shop. It's the Greeter's job to make new people feel welcome and let them know they do belong and they can do it! Encourage people to learn how to maintain their own bikes through volunteering in the shop, attending free maintenance classes, and asking for assistance from our shop leads.
Your duties will include: helping new volunteers get registered in our system, assure volunteers get signed in, introduce volunteers to the Lead Volunteer in the shop, give tours of the shop and direct customers looking for parts and bikes to the “retail areas”, assist with office duties (filing waivers, organizing merchandise, scanning documents, general cleaning, etc).
Age Requirements: 18+ with a signed waiver
