Mayo Hospice is sponsoring our 4th annual Hospice Memory Bear event on Saturday, March 23, at Good Counsel Conference Center in Mankato. Volunteers can participate all day, or attend either the morning or afternoon session.
Hospice offers a training session for new volunteers which includes a review of the sewing instructions, as well as a bear sewing demonstration.
We are recruiting volunteers with sewing experience to participate. Volunteers will help Hospice family members create a memory bear out of piece of clothing from their deceased loved one. There are 2 different volunteer assignments:
Sewer – bring machine and sew the bear.
or
Sewing Helper – help families cut out pattern, add stuffing to bear and provide finishing touches.
