Great River Greening engages thousands of volunteers each year in hands-on restoration, environmental conservation, and community-science-based programming. Our community engagement opportunities are held throughout Minnesota, primarily in the Twin Cities metro, central Minnesota from Blaine to Brainerd, as well as throughout Southern Minnesota.
We are having a FREE 4- part educational series in native landscape design to provide professional, hands-on training to anyone interested in installing native plants on their property. Sessions will be held on August 20, 29, September 11 and 19 from 5:30-7:30pm at the Blue Earth County Library. Please register separately for each of your desired sessions.
Content will include
Introduction to Native Landscapes
Landscape Design with Native Plants
Installation and Maintenance of Native Landscapes
Sessions 1,2 and 3 will be held at the Blue Earth County Library and session 4 will be outside at a public park to be determined.
Register for one day or all days, no matter what, you will gain knowledge and appreciation for Minnesota's native plants.
Please note: scientific or natural resources knowledge is beneficial, but not necessary! All training and resources are provided. Gain new skills and restore natural spaces on urban and suburban landscape in Minnesota.
