Who We Are

What is MnMOM?

Minnesota Mission of Mercy (MnMOM) is a community service project that provides free dental care,
over a two-day period (July 25-26), for those facing barriers to care.

Volunteers

Volunteers are the heart of a Mission of Mercy and Minnesota will rely on the generous help of more
than 1,000 volunteer dentists, dental hygienists and assistants, lab technicians and other nondental
community volunteers during the three days.

THANK YOU.
The MOM project would not be possible without the giving spirit of volunteers in Mankato and the
surrounding area.

What We Do

About Mission of Mercy

The very first Mission of Mercy (MOM) was launched in Virginia in 2000, and today MOM events can be found nationwide. The events are focused on helping underserved populations of children and adults who are without medically compromising conditions receive dental treatment that they, for whatever reason, cannot obtain. A MOM event is successful with the help of hundreds of volunteers – dental and non-dental – coming together with a common vision in mind. Since their inception, MOM events have helped over 150,000 patients and provided over $88 million in free dental services. The MDA and Minnesota Dental Foundation Mission of Mercy dental program has provided $2,261,895 in donated services and treatment through more than 3,700 patient visits since 2012.

A Successful MOM event focuses on:

  • Providing free dental care, especially to patients with dental infections and/or pain.
  • Raising awareness of the barriers to dental care faced by low-income adults and children.
  • Bringing state policymakers and dental professionals together to improve the oral health of all residents, particularly those low-income patients who have been promised care by the state.
